Damascus, Feb.26 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Religious Endowments, Muhammad Abu al-Khair Shukri, discussed with UK’s Special Representative to Syria, Ann Snow, and the UK’s Humanitarian Advisor for Syria, Erlend Linklater, ways to strengthen relations between Syria and the United Kingdom, particularly in religious and humanitarian affairs.
During the meeting, held on Thursday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, the two sides reviewed the positive outcomes of the “Unity of Islamic Discourse” conference and the Ministry of Religious Endowments’ role in consolidating civil peace and promoting the values of moderation, according to a statement released by the Ministry on its Telegram channel.
The meeting comes in the framework of following-up the outcomes of “the Unity of Islamic Discourse” first conference which was held on Feb.15th and 16th at the Conferences’ Palace.
The conference was launched under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic and the Supreme Fatwa Council, with the participation of official and religious figures from various Syrian provinces.
