Damascus, SANA – The Russian parliamentary, media and medical delegation on Wednesday discussed with Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and All the East for Rome Orthodox means of boosting the Syrian-Russian cooperation in humanitarian field and the possibility of increasing assistance provided to the Syrian people.
Patriarch Yazigi extended gratitude to the Russian people and leadership for their stances which support the steadfastness of Syria’s people and army in their war against terrorism.
He added that the Patriarchate will keep up with its Russian counterpart to achieve peace in Syria and look for all means that may contribute to the enhancement of the Syrian people’s steadfastness.
For his part, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for Civil Development, Public and Religious Associations Sergei Gavrilov said that this is his 6th visit to Syria which aims at voicing support and solidarity with Syria and its people against terrorism.
He expressed the Russian Patriarchate’s readiness to provide all humanitarian assistance to the Syria people.
