Damascus, SANA-People’s Assembly discussed during its session, headed by Speaker Hadiyeh Abbas, the performance of the Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Ministry and issues related to its work.

For his part, Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Ahmad al-Qadiri briefed the PMs on what has been implemented by the ministry in 2016, affirming that the agriculture sector is one of the government’s top priorities.

The minister pointed out that all agricultural products are available in the local markets in addition to a surplus in the production of some crops such as citrus and olive oil which allows for exporting some quantities, adding that adopting some governmental procedures contributed to meeting the needs of the agriculture sector.

Al-Qadiri noted that despite the exceptional circumstances in Syria, 60-70 percent of agricultural plans have been implemented.
