Damascus Countryside, SANA – A new aid convoy, supervised by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), was entered to the inhabitants of al-Muadamiyeh city in Damascus countryside.
Presented by the World Food Programme (WFP), the UNICEF, and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Health Organization (WHO), the convoy included relief and food supplies that will be distributed on al-Muadamiyeh people according to pre-set lists and under the supervision of the City Council and the national reconciliation committee.
Damascus Countryside Governorate, in cooperation with relief sub-committee, has allowed thousands of medicine and health packages to enter al- Muadamiyeh city since the beginning of the current year.
In a statement to SANA, Head of al- Muadamiyeh City Council, Bassam Karbouj, said the aid supplies contain 7000 food packages, 7000 flour bags and various other foodstuffs, noting that this is the sixth convoy to enter the city.
He reiterated that government’s keenness on delivering humanitarian aid to all areas.
On September 10th, the status of tens of gunmen was settled in al- Muadamiyeh city after they handed over their weapons.
