Al-Zara power plant returns into service after repairing damage sustained due to terrorist attacks

Hama, SANA- Al-Zara power plant located in the southern countryside of Hama province has been put back into service on Wednesday after more than 8 days-long halt due to severe damage sustained in terrorists’ attacks.

Director of the plant Mustafa Shantout said to SANA that the cadres and experts of the plant and the Electricity Generating Public Company have managed to put the plant back into service, where it began to feed the electrical grid with 66 megawatts.

On July 9, the station sustained huge damage and went out of service following terrorist rocket attacks. On July 13, terrorist groups of Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham also fired rocket shells on al-Zara power plant, causing massive damage to it.
