SARC starts distributing food aid to families in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor, SANA-The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) branch in Deir Ezzor started on Friday the distribution of food aid to the families in the province.

Last week, around 50 tons of food aid offered by the World Food Program (WFP) arrived to the city of Deir Ezzor.

Head of the distribution department at SARC branch Abdul-Nasser Matar said in a statement to SANA reporter that each family will receive a food portion that weighs 20 kg, adding the amount of aid will be delivered to the families over the entire week by the SARC.

He pointed out that the branch is expecting the arrival of new amounts of aid during the coming period to be distributed among the citizens.

The city of Deir Ezzor is besieged by ISIS which prevents the citizens from receiving the food, medical supplies and fuel.
