US Vice President: Dialogue best way to resolve crisis in Syria

Dubai, SANA-U.S. Vice President Joe Biden affirmed that dialogue is the best way to solve the crisis in Syria, adding that the cessation of hostilities agreement that went into effect late last month “seems to be holding.”

“The broad cessation of hostilities that went into effect late last month seems to be holding. It is not perfect. It’s fragile. And we continue to raise areas of concern. But levels of violence have dropped significantly across the country. That has opened up space for humanitarian relief to reach people in need inside Syria,” Biden said in an interview with the UAE “The National” newspaper.

“So as hard as it is, we have to keep trying to reach a political settlement in Syria,” he added.

He ruled out any military solution to the crisis in Syria, adding that “that should be clear to everyone”.
