Tehran, SANA- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani felicitated the Iranian nation on the occasion of lifting the western-imposed sanctions and implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Iran and the P5+1 – the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany – finalized the text of the JCPOA in Vienna in July 2015.
Under the JCPOA, limits are put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related economic and financial bans against the Islamic Republic.
“The JCPOA reached conclusion. I pray God … and congratulate you the great Iranian nation on the occasion of this victory,” the President said in his Twitter account on Saturday.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a report, confirming that Iran honored commitments to the (JCPOA).
Following the IAEA statement, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini read a joint statement on implementation of the JCPOA and removal of anti -Iran sanctions.
Mogherini asserted that this historical achievement is just and strong where it gives hope for the all, adding that the start of implementing it will lead to peace and stability in the whole world.
Zarif considered this step as a chance which contributed to stabilizing the region and the world, affirming that Iran is distinguished by strong political will to prove that it is able to deal with thorny international files to reach just solutions.
For his part, The US Secretary of State John Kerry pointed out that the implementation of the agreement in full way will enable the international community to work on solving other regional challenges, including the crisis in Syria.
