The Syrian Arab Army established control over new areas across the country on Friday after targeting terrorists’ positions in many areas, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment.
Homs
An Army and Armed Forces unit clashed with terrorist groups affiliated with ISIS in the area surrounding al-Qaryatain city to the southeast of Homs city, according to sources on the ground.
The sources confirmed that at least 13 terrorists were killed or injured in the process and a vehicle was destroyed along with all weapons and ammunition inside it.
Later, a military source told SANA that army units carried out operations targeting ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of Shaer village and north of Marhatan village around 10 km west of Palmyra (Tadmur) city, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons and munitions.
Other units killed and injured a number of ISIS members while targeting their concentrations and movements in the surroundings of Rajm al-Qasr, east of Jub al-Jarrah, al-Msharifa al-Janoubiye hill, and in Tuloul al-Soud in the direction of Maheen and al- Qaryatain east and southeast of Homs city.
In the province’s northern countryside, sources on the ground said that an army unit carried out operations in Hosh Hajo and al-Saan al-Aswad villages 20 km north of Homs city, inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists affiliated with Jabhat al-Nusra terror groups and destroying their bases along with the weapons and munitions inside them.
Lattakia
Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over
Khirbit al-Joba hill and Point 1023 and al-Takhan land in the northeast countryside of Lattakia, according to a military source.
The source added that the army killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their weapons and ammunition.
Army units combed the area and dismantled explosive devices and landmines which terrorists had planted earlier in the area.
Hama
Army units carried out precision operations against terrorists’ gatherings in Tal Wasit, al-Mansoura, al-Ziyara and al-Qahira in the far northwestern countryside of Hama province.
The operations resulted in killing 30 terrorists including a leader in “Jaish al-Fatah” terror organization who was nicknamed “Abu Bakr al-Assadi” and in destroying 7 of their vehicles.
Daraa
37 terrorists killed, 6 armored vehicles destroyed
An Army and Armed Forces unit destroyed carried out a series of precision operations targeting hotbeds and concentrations of terrorists in the southern and southwestern part of al-Manshia neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city, a military source told SANA.
The source said that the operations resulted in destroying artillery pieces and mortar launchers, vehicles, and 23mm anti-aircraft guns, in addition to killing and injuring scores of terrorists.
Other units carried out intensive operations targeting terrorists’ positions and advanced in the neighborhoods of al-Bajabja, al-Badou, al-Bahar, and the old customs area in Daraa al-Balad, which resulted in destroying 6 armored vehicles used by terrorists and eliminating 37 terrorists, including Ziyad Quaider, Ibrahim Bajbouj, Atallah al-Masalmeh, and Mohammad Ghazi al-Balkhi.
