Syrian Special Olympics organizes a race on Int’l Day of Persons with Disabilities

Damascus, SANA – Marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Syrian Special Olympics organized on Friday a race for people with special needs of all ages.

The 1 km-distance race was held on Autostrade al-Mazzeh in Damascus under the motto “Together, Everything Is Possible” and was capped with a football match played by the team of people with special needs.

Minister of Tourism Bishr Yazigi said the education and health support provided by the private and government institutions to the people with special needs is “a good step towards building a strong and coherent society.”

The Sports Director at the Syrian Special Olympics Mohannad Taha, in turn, pointed out that the event will be held in most provinces besides Damascus.
