A French delegation arrives in Damascus to inspect reality of situation

Damascus, SANA- A French delegation comprising businessmen, journalists and intellectuals started on Wednesday a several-day visit to Syria.

“The delegation’s visit comes to inspect the situation in Syria, particularly the status of Christians in the region and the international stances towards the current state in the country,” chairman of the delegation, member of the Parliamentary Committee on the Foreign Affairs at the national Assembly Thierry Mariani said in a statement.

On the Russian support to Syria, Mariani said “No one can opposes an ally in the war against terrorism,” considering that the Russian role is encouraging and time has come to see the outcomes.
