New York, SANA- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that the wrong policies have changed somehow and there have been statements and stances by some European officials that reflect a realistic view towards the region and Syria.
“We hope that we will confront extremism in Iraq, Syria and Yemen which has threatened the regional peace,” Zarif, who is currently in New York to participate in the meetings of the UN General Assembly, said in a televised statement on Sunday evening.
He indicated that the international community bears a huge responsibility with regard to drying up the financial and military aid provided to the extremist groups in the region.
Earlier on Sunday, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani asserted that the Syrian people are the ones who will decide Syria’s future, calling for acting in a unified manner to confront terrorist organizations.
