Rome, SANA – The Syrian community in Italy and the European Solidarity Front for Syria organized on Thursday a sit-in in front of the Italian Parliament under the title “against terrorism for the sake of Syria and its civilization”.
The participants in the sit-in presented a petition to the Italian Parliament calling for ending the economic siege on the Syrian people, respecting the legitimacy of the Syrian state and helping Syria in fighting the terrorist organizations.
The petition also called for helping in protecting the Syrian heritage from destruction and robbery inflicted by the terrorists and restoring the diplomatic relations between Syria and Italy and reopening the two countries’ embassies.
At the end of the sit-in, a group of Syrians and members of the Front met with the parliamentarian Raffaele Volpe, who expressed during the meeting his support for the Syrian people and voiced his intention to visit Syria to see for himself what is happening on the ground there.
