Electricity Minister and Chief of Iran’s Export Development Bank discuss implementation of signed contracts

Tehran, SANA – Syria and Iran discussed on Thursday the implementation of contracts signed with Iranian companies according to schedules.

This was discussed by Ali Salehabadi, Managing Director of the Export Development Bank of Iran, and Minister of Electricity Imad Khamis, who is on a visit to the Iranian capital Tehran.

Khamis stressed during the meeting the importance of taking extraordinary steps at this time to boost mutual cooperation between the two countries so as to reach better results.

In turn, Salehabadi affirmed that Iran will continue to provide support to Syria and work to overcome difficulties that face the development of cooperation between the two countries.

The Electricity Minister also met with a number of representatives of Iranian electricity companies operating in Syria, where the discussions focused on developing the mechanisms necessary to implement electricity projects in Syria.

Syria and Iran signed last March an economic cooperation agreement in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture and joint investments.
