Within enthusiastic atmospheres, an official football match was held Monday at Khaled bin al-Walid stadium in Homs between al-Karama and Golan teams in the framework of the Republic’s Cup championship.
The match witnessed big turnout with popular and official attendance after three years of suspension due to the current conditions.
Homs governor Talal Barazi said in a statement that the match affirms that the city is recovering and returning to normal, a governorate that practices all activities whether in sports, music or culture.
Chairman of Sports’ General Union in Homs Mohammad Harba said al-Walid Stadium is ready to receive any football team, adding that the situation in Homs is stable and encouraging for holding any event.
Al-Karama beat Golan team 10-0.
