Sweida, SANA – Criminal Security Department in Sweida arrested members of a gang involved in drug trade, arms trafficking, embezzlement, fraud and theft in the province.
The Police Commander in Sweida Mohammad Samra told SANA that the 6-member gang’s involvement in those crimes was investigated and confirmed.
The gang members were hunted and arrested on the road linking Sweida and Damascus. A quantity of drugs was found in the car transporting them and was confiscated.
Two bombs, two guns and a quantity of narcotic substance were found in the house of one of the gang members.
The gang members pleaded guilty and will be facing trial, the Police Command said.
