Strong condemnations of Israeli occupation aggression on Palestine and Lebanon at Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh

Riyadh, SANA-With the participation of President Bashar al-Assad, the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit began Monday in Riyadh to discuss repercussions of the Israeli aggression on Palestinian and Lebanese territories and developments in the region.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman delivered a speech at the opening of the summit in which he affirmed support for the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples in the face of Israeli aggression and called on the international community to stop these acts of aggression.

Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the Israeli occupation wants to eliminate the Palestinian people in Gaza, forcibly displace those who remain of it and end the Palestinian hope for an independent State.

He added that the summit sends a message that the world cannot bear the consequences of turning its back on this ongoing slaughter.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel’s membership in the United Nations must be suspended unless it adheres to international law and ends its crimes against the Palestinian people.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi considered that the future of the region and the world is at a crossroads, and the unacceptable Israeli aggression taking place in the Palestinian and Lebanese territories puts the international order to the test.

El-Sisi condemned and rejected all Israeli plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, especially the displacement of the Palestinians.

Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that “Israel” is targeting Lebanon and is sowing death and destruction in flagrant violation of international law.

He noted that Lebanon is going through an unprecedented historic crisis and is facing a blatant Israeli aggression that is added to the accumulated challenges and crises.

He indicated that the Israeli aggression caused enormous human losses and the number of victims has so far exceeded more than 3,200 dead, including more than 750 children and women, in addition to thousands of wounded.
