Cairo, SANA- With participating of Syria, activities of the 4th Ministerial Conference on Women, Peace and Security launched Wednesday under the theme “Enhancing Protection and Comprehensive Response to the Needs of Women in Conflict Zones… Women Face Wars”, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
During its interactive sessions, the Conference addresses efforts to implement the women, peace and security agenda at the regional level, the suffering of women and human rights violations under the Israeli occupation, wars and armed conflicts, enhancing the effective participation of women in peacemaking and building, recovery and reconstruction efforts, and the comprehensive response to the needs of women in conflict zones and emergency situations.
Syria is represented at the two-day conference by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Eng. Samar al-Sabai, as well the opening of the conference was attended by Syria’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Hussam Eddin Ala.
