Aleppo, SANA- Today, Aleppo province celebrated the centenary of founding al-Adiyat Association that concerned with preserving tangible and intangible heritage, in presence of representative of President Bashar al-Assad, the Secretary-General of Republic’s Presidency, Mansour Azzam, and the Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diab.
Al-Adiyat Association was established with the aim of preserving Syria’s important cultural heritage with all its aspects, as it started in Aleppo and set off to a number of provinces with seventeen branches, Head of Association, Engineer Muhammad Khair al-Din al-Rifai, said indicating its cultural and historical role and the ongoing activities of the association despite the circumstances and challenges it faced.
During the hundred years, the association and its branches have played an important role in preserving the heritage and cultural advancement, which is based not only on monuments, antiquities and historical structures, but also on human experience, sciences, arts and virtues, Secretary of al-Adiyat Association in Homs Khadija Al-Hassan said.
