A group of tourists from several countries visits Bosra al-Sham

Daraa, SANA- “In case of indecision about knowledge of history, you must look for it in the treasures of Bosra and its architectural monuments,” American intellectual Stefan Andrew told SANA correspondent during his visit to Bosra al-Sham with a group of tourists including many intellectual and economic elites, and retirees who came from different countries to discover the sites of the ancient city.

“We read articles about ancient civilizations, the disappearance and destruction of their monuments, but in Bosra we found a beautiful brotherhood that emerged thanks to the presence of multiple Roman, Nabataean and Islamic monuments, respect for each civilization for the previous one, and we found in the citadel a Roman theater surrounded by Islamic towers and Nabataean decorations,” Andrew added.

An American tourist expressed his extreme joy at being among the magnificent sights, and said it was a dream come true to live in an international open-air museum, without any obstacles, and wished Syria to continue to prosper and progress.

Orista, a Ukrainian tourist, said: “What impresses you most about the city’s buildings is the precision of the decorations on the capitals of the columns, the unique and symmetrical construction and the splendor of the architecture, which bears witness to the magnificent technical progress of these civilizations.”

Olga, a Swedish lawyer, called on international organizations concerned with heritage issues to provide all possible assistance to protect these magnificent treasures, highlighting the remarkable efforts made by Syrian public authorities to maintain, rehabilitate and care for the antiquities.

Director of Daraa Tourism, Yasser Al-Saadi, considered that the large number of tourist delegations in Bosra is proof of recovery and the return to take our position on the world tourism map, and expressed readiness to provide everything necessary to highlight the civilizational face of Syria.
