Damascus, SANA Damascus University discussed with al-Farabi Group for Knowledge and International Development the possibility of signing a twining agreement between both sides.
Rector of Damascus University Dr. Mohammad Hassan al-Kurdi and an Iraqi academic delegation of al-Farabi Group headed by Dr. Wahab al-Ta’i discussed, during a meeting in Damascus,means of developing joint cooperation in higher education field and the possibility of making a twining agreement between both sides.
Dr. al-Kurdi briefed the Iraqi delegation on the situation of education in the University, its collages, institutes and general academic system of study, the parallel education and the open-learning in addition to its relations with Arab and international universities.
The rector expressed readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi side in regard to the post-graduate studies.
For his part, Dr. al-Ta’i expressed desire to establish extraordinary relations of cooperation with Damascus University due to its
internationally prestigious reputation, hoping to sign the twining agreement in the field of post-graduate studies.
He pointed out that the Group aims at exchanging students in the physics, math, bio-geology, microbiology, humanitarian science and law.
Al-Farabi group includes a number of educational institutions, research centers, including al-Farabi Institution for Scientific Development, al-Farabi Academic Association, al-Farabi Information Academy and al-Farabi Institute for Languages and
Computer, in addition to al-Farabi for Humanitarian Development and al-Farabi Center for Strategic Studies.
The group also publishes al-Farabi weekly newspapers “Farabi Group” and “al-Farabi Magazine”.
