Moscow, SANA- Units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia rescued 1,736 people in the Kherson region after the Ukrainian sabotage at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, of which 165 were children.
“Since the beginning of the rescue operation, the employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have rescued 1,736 people, including 165 children, while the number of evacuees reached up to 6,026, including 235 children” the Ministry’s units said in a statement cited by Novosti.
The statement added “The Russian Emergencies Ministry has already delivered about 75 tons of food and 30 tons of bottled water to the flood zone,”
It is clarified that rescuers help to pump out water using pumping equipment. In total, 795 people and 344 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences of the emergency.
