Building up allied ties fully meets interests of Russia and Belarus — Putin

MOSCOW, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulations to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of the two countries on Sunday.

The congratulatory telegram of the head of state was published on the Kremlin website.

“Please accept my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. Based on the good traditions of friendship and good neighborliness that bind Russians and Belarusians, our countries and peoples are systematically expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. The mechanisms of the Union State are also being vigorously improved,” the statement says.

“I am sure that the further build-up of the entire range of allied ties fully meets the interests of our fraternal peoples,” the head of Russia added

The Russian President also wished happiness and prosperity to the citizens of Belarus.

Earlier, Lukashenko also congratulated Putin and the Russian leadership on the Day of Unity of the two nations.
