Yemeni Embassy in Damascus sends an aid convoy to quake-affected people in Aleppo

Damascus, SANA-A Yemeni aid convoy including six trucks departed from the Yemeni embassy in Damascus on Sunday heading to Aleppo province, loaded with relief, food and medical supplies, and winter clothes for those affected by the earthquake.

In a statement to SANA, Yemini Ambassador to Syria Abdullah Ali Sabri affirmed Yemen’s standing with Syria, noting that sending this aid comes within the framework of loyalty and solidarity with the Syrian government and people, particularly that the Syrian government has always stood by Yemen in various stages.

Ambassador Sabri pointed out that this convoy is a symbol of the common ties binding the two brotherly peoples and aims to strengthen efforts to break the unjust siege and Western sanctions imposed on Syria, which have a great impact in multiplying the earthquake effects.

For his part, Head of the Yemeni Community Council in Syria, Muhammad Naji al-Awlaki, said that this aid is a gift provided by the Yemeni community and the charitable people to those affected by the devastating earthquake under the slogan “From Yemen to Syria, together to Break the Siege.”

Al-Awlaki expressed the solidarity of the Yemeni people with the Syrian people.

On Feb 18th, the Yemeni embassy in Damascus sent an aid convoy of six trucks to Lattakia province in support of those affected by the earthquake.
