Damascus, SANA- Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban said that the US and the West have no regard for people’s lives and all their claims about the humanitarian issue in Syria are false.
“The situation in Syria is difficult due to the earthquake hit the country which claiming thousands of victims, and injuring others, in addition to collapse and cracking of hundreds of buildings, therefore, the Cabinet announced the affected areas in the governorates of Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama and Idlib as afflicted areas,” Shaaban said in an interview with RT channel on Saturday.
Shaaban Pointed out that what worsens the situation is the U.S. and European coercive economic measures that prevent Syria from developing its means and methods to help people trapped under the rubble, while the Americans claim that they allowed humanitarian aid to enter Syria, this is not true, as Western countries have no humanitarian consideration, and only look at the political situation contrary to what they claim.
Shaaban asserted that the United States is committing a crime against the Syrian people by preventing any country from helping Syria, and explained that when there are people trapped under the rubble, cranes and heavy machinery become humanitarian aid because that equipment is the one that can save lives from under the rubble.
Shaaban said that Syria does not trust what the Americans say about the humanitarian situation because all their accusations have no truth, and the statement announced by the spokeswoman of the US State Department on the issuance of a new decision on the temporary freezing of some unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people is misleading and false.
Shaaban noted that European countries have not provided any help to Syria to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake, but many Syrian expatriates in these countries are trying to transfer money to Syria to help those affected by the earthquake, but none of them could do so due to the American and European measures.
Shaaban pointed out that the world is changing and that Syria is on the right side of history and stands with Russia and China and the countries that adhere to its sovereignty and independent decision and see that the multipolar world is a human necessity to put the end of western hegemony.
