Establishment for Road Transportation: value of implemented projects in Aleppo reaches SYP 2.5 billion

Aleppo, SANA- Director of the General Establishment for Road Transportation-Aleppo Branch, Eng. Ali al-Khuwailed, announced that the cost of the projects implemented by the branch amounted to two billion and 540 Syrian pounds during the past year.

The implemented projects included the finalization of the contract for completing the implementation of the southern Aleppo interchange at a cost of SYP 395 million, al-Khuwailed told SANA.

The projects also included the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Aleppo-Azaz highway with a length of 28 kilometers and at a cost of SYP 342, and the maintenance project for the Aleppo-Raqqa highway with a length of 110 kilometers at a cost of SYP455 million.

The maintenance and rehabilitation of the Aleppo-Urum-Bab al-Hawa highway at a cost of SYP 357 million, the maintenance of the Aleppo-Damascus Highway at a cost of SYP 347 million, and the implementation of works to ensure traffic safety, including road painting on the southern Aleppo interchange, and road painting works on the Aleppo-Damascus highway were also among the implemented projects.

Al-Khuwailed said that the Establishment has put in its plan for this year the completion of the implementation of contracts concluded with public sector companies to rehabilitate the “Assan Bridge” on the southern highway, in which the value of the implemented works amounted to SYP 500 million, and the Nairab Bridge, and the value of the implemented works amounted to SYP 100 million.

He noted contracts were signed for the maintenance of the Aleppo-Damascus highway at a value of SYP 220 million, and other main highways, in addition to continuing the maintenance of the Aleppo-Raqqa highway, and completing the maintenance of the Aleppo-Khanaser highway.
