Lugansk, SANA- President of the Lugansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, has announced that his country will establish diplomatic relations with Syria soon.
In response to a question by the participants in a press tour to his country organized by the Russian Defense Ministry, Pasechnik said, “Syria has recognized the independence and sovereignty of the Lugansk People’s Republic, so as soon as the relevant negotiations are conducted, we are likely to start implementing this project.”
“The Luhansk People’s Republic is very grateful to the Syrian people and their leadership for recognizing the republic,” Pasechnik added.
On Jun 29th, Syria announced the recognition of the independence and sovereignty of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic, and that communication would be conducted with both countries to agree on frameworks for strengthening relations, including establishing diplomatic relations in accordance with the established rules.
