Kherson authorities: a referendum on joining Russia to be held this year

Moscow, SANA- Deputy Head of Military and Civil Administration of Kherson region, Kirill Strimosov, has revealed that this year a referendum will be held in the Kherson region on joining Russia.

“The top priority now is not the referendum, but the socio-economic re-development of the region,” Strimosov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti news agency.

“We will do everything necessary so that the residents of the Kherson region do not face any difficulties and their life will be comfortable”, Strimosov said.

Strimosov added that the Kherson region has already begun to integrate with Russia and the residents are actively applying for Russian passports.
