Tehran, SANA- Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Shafiq Diop, discussed with a delegation comprising representatives of various Iranian commercial, industrial and craft sectors, means to boost and develop economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Diop stressed to the delegation at the Syrian Embassy in Tehran on Sunday, the importance of benefiting from the new Investment Law No. 18 for 2021, which aims to create an attractive and suitable investment environment for Arab and foreign investors.
Ambassador Diop underlined the importance of establishing joint companies between Syria and Iran and strengthening the role of the private sector to serve the interests of the two friendly countries in the economic and commercial fields, as well as cooperation in the establishment of technology companies, exchange of knowledge experiences, and the search for suitable alternatives to overcome the impacts of the unilateral and illegal coercive sanctions imposed on the two countries.
He affirmed the importance of exerting more efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations to rise to the level of the strategic political relations between the two countries and establishing exhibitions in a way that contributes to introducing their citizens to the products and goods produced in both countries.
Ambassador Diop pointed out to the participation of Iranian companies and businessmen in the 3th conference for the reconstruction of Syria, entitled “Investment Prospects and Vision,” to be held in Damascus next May.
In turn, the Iranian delegation stressed the importance of cooperation with Syria in various economic, medical, industrial, technological and knowledge fields, calling for addressing all technical issues in a way that contributes to strengthening relations between the two countries.
