Iraq supports any effort to find a solution to crisis in Syria

Baghdad, SANA- First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, MP Humam Hamoudi discussed Wednesday with Syria’s Ambassador in Baghdad Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah means of confronting challenges to which Syria and Iraq are encountering and the best ways to develop bilateral relations.

A statement by the office of member of Iraqi Parliament’s chairmanship committee said that Hammoud affirmed that “Iraq supports any effort to resolve the crisis in Syria by the Syrians through dialogue.”

According to the statement, talks during the meeting dealt with the bilateral relations and the need for developing them in the interest of both brotherly peoples.

For his part, the Syrian Ambassador underlined the importance of enhancing ties between Syria and Iraq on all levels to defeat the plots of the nation’s enemies.

“Syria and Iraq are confronting one conspiracy and one enemy, so, in order to defeat the dark, takfiri enemy, the two countries have to hold permanent coordination and consultations,” the Syrian Ambassador said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad.
