Syria, Iran discuss enhancing cooperation in oil and mineral resources fields

Damascus, SANA- Syria and Iran discussed means to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of oil and mineral resources.

This came during a meeting on Wednesday between Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme and Advisor to the Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Economic Cooperation Council in Iran, Eng. Mustafa Ethbat, and the accompanying delegation.

Both sides reviewed the agenda of the joint agreement signed between the two parties, and stressed the need to follow up the implementation of the previously agreed upon projects in a way that contributes to strengthening and upgrading economic relations, particularly that they include areas of cooperation in the sectors of base oils and compressed gas to operate machinery.

Minister Tohme pointed out the importance of joint cooperation in maintaining gas turbines and compressors in the country’s Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources, instead of sending them to Iran.
