240 new coronavirus infections, 9 deaths reported in Syria

Damascus, SANA- 240 new coronavirus cases, 68 recoveries and 9 fatalities were recorded in Syria on Sunday, according to the Health Ministry.

“Till now, the total number of the detected coronavirus cases in Syria has reached up to 36,953 of which 24,503 have recovered, while 2,341 have passed away”, the Ministry said in a statement.

The first coronavirus case was reported in Syria on March 22^nd in a person who came from abroad, while the first fatality was registered on the 29^th of the same month.
