Damascus, SANA-Syrian artists and musicians participated sons of the Russian people their joy on the 76th anniversary of victory over Nazism during a central ceremony hosted at Opera House amid presence of official figures, intellectuals and a number of Russian community citizens in Syria.
The ceremony, held in cooperation between Culture Ministry, Russian Embassy and Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, was an opportunity to present the high capabilities of the graduates of the Syrian Academic institutes.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Ayman Sosan, delivered a speech in which he pointed out to the joy of Syrians to participate with the Russian friends their victory which put an end to the Nazism and Fascist ideology based on the colonial dominance and expansion ,stressing that what has happened in Syria was a result of schemes aimed at dominance and arrogance to impose custody on Syrians and policy according to their own interests.
The Charge d’affaires of the Russian Embassy in Damascus, Eldar Gurbanov, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the two ministers of Culture and Presidential Affairs for their efforts to organize this ceremony, recalling the sacrifices offered by the Russian People in their war against Nazism during the Second World War which was the deadliest and most ferocious in history.
Minister of Culture, Lubanah Mshaweh, asserted the need to consolidate the sacrifice and steadfastness culture at all forums.
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr.Bashar al-Jaafari, considered that “our celebration today with the Russian friends on this occasion comes as a recognition of the great role played by the Soviet Union at that time in victory over the Nazism and Fascism.
