Mikdad: National unity, tolerance gives optimism next year will witness decisive victory

Damascus, SANA-Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said that the Syrian presidential elections have showed the vitality of the Syrian people and their awareness and ability to select and practice this form of freedom of expression and democracy.

Mikdad, in an article published by Lebanese al-Binaa newspaper on Saturday, referred to the victories and achievements of the Syrian army against terrorism and its supporters, Syria’s success in conveying its message to the whole world that it stands by ending the foreign intervention and its willingness to respond to the international efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis in the country.

He affirmed that the Syrian people’s celebrations during these days on Christmas and the new year reflect the national unity, tolerance and amity which give optimism that the coming year will witness the decisive victory.

Mikdad said that the latest four years in the nation’s history were “lean years”, adding that history will record that the reason behind this plague was and still is the Israeli plots and the countries which support it.

He affirmed that  the western circles and intellectuals of the hegemony pattern in the world adopt the lie method for the interests of Israel whom they created among the Arabs to “kill and assault us.”

“Our history unites us, and it won’t separate us… but the most important thing is that we merged as one part in our life, feelings and land,” Mikdad affirmed.

He added that the Arab people have defied the goals of the Western-Israeli aggression and their tools of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Jabhat al-Nusra and the Free army and other terrorist organizations which have taken the names of prophets as a cover to kill and destroy everything in Syria, Iraq and other Arab countries.
