Damascus, SANA- People’s Assembly discussed on Wednesday the performance of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry.
Petroleum Minister, Bassam Toma’a, said during a session for the Assembly, chaired by Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh, that the losses in the oil sector since the beginning of the terrorist war on Syria reached / 91.5/ billion USD , of which 19.3 billion USD as direct losses that affected the equipment.
“Among the losses were 3 billion USD as cost of damage caused by so-called US-led International Coalition airstrikes, and the indirect losses reached at 72 billion USD,” the Minister added.
The coercive, illegitimate economic measures imposed by the US on the Syrian people have negatively affected the supplies of oil derivatives into the country.
