Drinking water pumped to Hasaka neighborhoods after 25 days of being cut off by Turkish occupation

Hasaka, SANA- The General Establishment for Drinking Water in Hasaka Province has started to pump water to Hasaka City after a stoppage that lasted for more than 25 days due to halting the work of Alouk water plant by the Turkish occupation in Ras al-Ayn City.

Director-General of the Establishment Eng. Mahmoud al-Okleh, in a statement to SANA reporter, said that “after finishing the process of pumping water from the water gathering tanks in al-Himmeh area to al-Azizyia plant in Hasaka City, the process of pumping water to the neighborhoods of Ghwairan Sharqi and Ghwairan Gharbi, al-Lailyia, al-Nashwa al-Sharqiya, al-Zouhor and the southern compounds has started after a stoppage that lasted for more than 25 days after the Turkish occupation cut off water and halted the work of Alouk Plant.

Eng. al-Okleh noted that the reality of the work of Alouk Plant is not stable yet in terms of the number of the wells and the pumps as the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to attack the electrical network that feeds Alouk project with electricity from al-Dirbasyia power station.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation forces have stooped the operation of Alouk Plant and they prevented the pumping water to Hasaka City and the western countryside for the seventieth time since they occupied Ras al-Ayn City and its countryside last year.
