Syrian students in Cuba reiterate their standing by the homeland

Havana, SANA- Syrian students studying at Cuban universities reaffirmed their standing by their homeland Syria in the face of the continued aggression launched against it, hailing the steadfastness of the Syrian army and people in the face of the global terrorism.

That came during a solidarity event organized by the University of Havana and the Cuban Students Union in Mariana Grajales Park in the capital, Havana, on the occasion of the celebrations held by Cuba at the end of the year, which coincide with International Human Rights Day.

During the event, the students denounced the unilateral, illegitimate and unjust coercive measures imposed by the US and Western countries on Syria, stressing that these measures are blatant violations of human rights and that they hinder the Syrian government’s efforts to confront the Coronavirus pandemic.

The students participating in the event raised banners calling for lifting the unjust measures against their homeland, Syria.

During the event, the National Union of Syrian Students- Cuba branch set up a special pavilion for Syria that included a number of pictures, magazines and folkloric artworks to introduce the Syrian civilization and history, in addition to presenting a number of materials that show the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the brave Syria Arab Army in facing terrorism and the economic war waged against the country.

At the end of the event, the Cuban Students Union praised the important Syrian participation in these activities which convey a true image about the events in Syria, expressing thanks to the branch of the National Union of Syrian Students in Cuba for its successful work and its continued participation in the activities held by Cuban universities.
