Opening Christmas Cave at Mar Elias Church in Dweilaa in Damascus amid public celebration

Damascus, SANA- With the beginning of Christmas month, Christmas Cave at Greek Orthodox Church of Mar Elias in Dweilaa in Damascus was opened on Tuesday evening amid a religious and public celebration.

The cave was established from the Cardboard and orbital wood in addition to trees from Bethlehem where Jesus Christ was born. Anyone enters the cave, he can see the Christmas stages and the challenges that Virgin Mary has suffered from before giving birth to the Jesus Christ, in addition to the Christmas Tree and the sculptures that symbolize this celebration.

“The cave has become an annual tradition that embodies Jesus Christ message which symbolizes the human being’s inner peace to preserve their principles and peace with the other, as well as keeping their love and peace with God to preserve their religion and peace with nature, and today’s celebration is a heavenly peace message presented on Earth” Metropolitan Afram Maalouli said.
