Damascus Countryside, SANA – SYP 300 million has been allocated for rehabilitation works at Adra power transmission station after it sustained massive damage due to terrorist acts.
Terrorist organizations committed acts of vandalism against the station, located in Adra city 25 km northeast of Damascus, destroying and stealing its contents, including cables and transformers, before the army restored security the city last September.
The station consists of two 66 kV transmission lines and two 66/20 kV transformers, each transformer has a capacity of 20 megawatts.
Assistant Director of the General Establishment for Electricity Transmission Abdul-Qader al-Ghalayini told SANA in a statement that the maintenance operation will be carried out in two phases and was planned to be completed by the end of December.
