Wheat and barley cultivated over more than 742 thousand hectares in Hasaka

Hasaka, SANA-Farmers in Hasaka province have continued to cultivate winter crops in different areas of agriculture stability across the province as the areas cultivated with wheat and barley have increased over the past days to reach 742,700 thousand hectares.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Department, Engineer Rajab al-Salameh said that cultivation processes are continuing with regard to the wheat crops as the areas cultivated with irrigated wheat have reached 91,200 thousand hectares while the areas cultivated with rainfed wheat have reached 252,500 thousand hectares. 

Salameh pointed to that the areas cultivated with rainfed barley reached 380 thousand hectares while the areas cultivated with irrigated barley have reached 19 thousand hectares, in addition to cultivating 2100 hectares with irrigated lentils and 18200 hectares with rainfed lentils.
