Damascus, SANA – Temperatures will drop to become around average in the eastern regions, yet remain slightly below average in other areas as the country is affected by a low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a relatively cold and wet air mass.
Meteorology Department expected in its Thursday bulletin that the weather will be partly cloudy and rainy in most areas, heavy rainfalls accompanied with thunder is expected over the northeastern areas and al-Jazeera. The Department warned against formation of floods in these areas.
The wind will be westerly to southwesterly of moderate and active speed, while the sea waves will be low in amplitude.
The expected temperatures in some main Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 18/12, Daraa 19/14, Homs 19/11, Hasaka 23/14, Lattakia 20/17, Aleppo18/13 and Deir Ezzor 22/16.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform rain bulletin during the past 24hours until 7 o’clock this morning, the heaviest mounts of rainfall reached at 102 mm in Draykish in Tartous province.
The rain bulletin added that the rain amounts in the Syrian provinces were as follows: Damascus and its countryside 70mm, Sweida 42 mm, Quneitra 80mm, Daraa 35mm, Homs 84mm, Hama 76mm, Lattakia 95mm, Idleb 23mm, Aleppo 76mm, Raqqa 15mm and Hasaka 13mm.
