Damascus, SANA – Seeking to restore its role on the level of organizing local championships and competitions, Syrian Automobile Club (SAC) is organizing experimental races at the racetrack of Zaman al-Khair on the road of Damascus International Airport.
The experimental races mainly aim to create an atmosphere of competition that would prepare young racers to participate in local championships to be organized by the SAC in the coming stage after overcoming all obstacles, SAC Director Khaild Atasy said.
Atasy indicated that races will be held with the participation of the most distinguished Syrian racers and some young racers with the aim of developing their skills to be able to participate in official races and to increase the sense of competition among racers.
Last month, the SAC organized Rallycross in Damascus countryside which is the first of its kind as it was held at a dirt circuit with the participation of 26 Syrian racers.
