Damascus, SANA – Higher Education Ministry stressed that there will not be additional fees for university open learning system.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry affirmed that the issue of imposing any additional tuition fees is not being considered,adding that registration fees for the 2014-2015 academic year will be the same of last year.
Last year, the Ministry raised open learning fees up to SYP 6000 for each subject of the Faculty of Information Technology and to SYP 5000 for each of the subjects of other faculties. Before that students used to pay SYP 3000 for each subject.
The Higher Education Council endorsed last June a 50 percent discount on open learning fees for students who are children of martyrs.
