Damascus, SANA- The profits of the General Company for Cable Industry in Damascus during the first four months of this year amounted to SYP 1,443 billion with the continuation of the production process within the permissible limits in implementation of the precautionary measures taken by the government to address the Coronavirus.
The production and marketing report of the company showed that the company produced from the beginning of the year until the end of the month of April 1,575 tons of various types of cables at a value of SYP 6,634 billion, with an implementation rate of 98 percent of the production plan, while sales reached up to 1,543 tons valued at SYP 6,384 billion and with an execution rate of 94 percent.
In a statement to SANA, the company’s General Director, Eng. Abdul Qadir al-Qaddour said that despite the precautionary measures taken by the government to address the Coronavirus and reduce employment, the production rate did not go down in all departments while taking all sterilization procedures and using personal protection methods for all workers, in addition to achieving the conditions of social distancing.
Al-Kaddour stressed that the company continues to implement the contracts signed with the public bodies and to meet the needs of the local market of various types of cables, of which it produces 1235 from various sections within 81 classes of bare copper, aluminum and aluminum steel strips to transmit low and high voltage, copper electric cables or aluminum insulated with plastic which have a single core for transmitting low voltage and insulated copper electrical cables for special uses.
He affirmed the keenness of the company’s management on securing all production requirements and maintaining the machinery and developing them to achieve the best results, pointing out to the need for an expert technical workforce in the field of modern machinery repair that depends on automatic control and software in addition to updating some of the machines operating on production lines whose technical condition is not so good.
