Syria, Crimea sign agreement on enhancing economic, trade cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Syria and the Russian Republic of Crimea on Thursday signed an agreement on enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries within activities of the 61st edition of Damascus International Fair in the domains of establishing a commercial house and a navigation company by the private sector, in addition to exchanging participation in the exhibitions.

In a statement to journalists, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Georgy Muradov underlined the importance of enhancing the Russian-Syrian cooperation in all domains, particularly in the domain of the reconstruction in Syria.

He indicated that the goal of his visit to Syria is to sign agreements of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and to participate in the 61st edition of Damascus International Fair which is witnessing a notable increase in the number of the participants which endows “the event with a major importance.”

Muradov referred to the great successes which Syria has achieved in the domain of combating terrorism, affirming that these successes pave the way for the Russian contribution in the reconstruction and the work in all the economic domains in Syria.

In a similar statement, Minister of Economy and Internal Trade Dr. Mohammad Samer al-Khalil said that the agreement came after a year of cooperation between the two countries and it covered different domains such as establishing a commercial house that will be a channel of cooperation through importing and exporting products between Syria and Crimea.

He added that the agreements also stipulates for forming a teamwork for cooperation in various economic domains during the coming period and enhancing cooperation in the domain of exhibitions, in addition to providing the required facilitations for them and establishing a navigation company for the private sector.
