Women Political Leaders Summit(WPL) 2019 in Tokyo concluded

Tokyo, SANA- Activities of the Women Political Leaders Summit(WPL) 2019 was concluded in the Japanese capital of Tokyo with the participation of delegations from more than 70 countries, including Syria.

Over 300 women participated in the summit, which was held between 25-27 June, and discussed issues of advancing the society with the sustainable development goals, advancing society with women as political leaders, and ways to empower women in the economy and their role in promoting the stability of societies through sustainable development goals, especially health and economic issues and communication with communities.

Syria participated in the summit with a delegation from the People’s Assembly headed by Dr. Ashwaq Abbas, Dr Amira Stiphano, and Farah Hamshu.

The Women Political Leaders Forum (WPL) was founded in 2013. It includes women in political positions such as parliamentarians, ministers and heads of states and governments.
