Tangible recovery of ailing labor market due to increase of worker registry

Damascus, SANA – The labor market has witnessed a gradual recovery due to the return of several companies and factories to work after a partial or complete breakdown caused by terrorism, which was positively reflected on those registered in General Organization for Social Insurance.

In a statement to SANA, Director-General of the Organization, Yahia Ahmad, said that the recent months witnessed a rise in number of those registered in the private sector, clarifying that the number was 212 thousand workers in September of the past year if compared to 700 thousands registered workers until the middle of February.

Ahmad pointed out to the sums taken from the subscriptions in the private sector, reaching SYP 17 billion during the past year and thus the increase of the Organization income in general has occurred.
