Patriarch Aphrem II: Terrorism hasn’t broken Syrians’ will to live   

Cairo, SANA- Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East Aphrem II on Monday stressed that Syria has suffered a lot due to terrorism and the foreign interferences  in its affairs and the unjust war waged against it.

In a special statement to SANA correspondent in Cairo, the Patriarch hailed the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army for restoring security and stability to Syria.

He noted that the narrow-minded Takfiri terrorism and its backers will not be able to break the will to live to all segments of the Syrian people.

“We pray  for peace to prevail across Syria and all the region so that everyone could live in security and safety,” Patriarch Aphrem II said.

Patriarch Aphrem II presided over a mass on Monday night at Church of the Virgin Mary  in Cairo as he is paying a visit to Egypt that will last for several days.

Earlier on the day, Patriarch Aphrem met a number of Syrian and Egyptian businessmen upon an invitation by Chairman of the Syrian Businessmen Forum in Egypt Khaldoun al-Mouake’a and in presence of Head of Syrian Consular Mission in Cairo Riyad Sneih and head of the Syrian community in Egypt Bassel Sumaqyia.

For his part, al-Mouake’a said that the terrorist war launched against Syria has targeted all the segments of the Syrian people who have proven their steadfastness in the face of the conspiracy hatched against their homeland.

He hailed the awareness of Syrian people and the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army for eradicating terrorism and foiling the conspiracy hatched against Syria.
