Moscow, SANA-Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed on Wednesday that the fight against terrorism in Syria will continue until eliminating it completely, adding that the withdrawal of US troops from Syria will be a positive step towards the achievement of stability in the country.
President Putin added at a press conference with President of the Turkish regime Erdogan that the two sides discussed prospects of the needed political settlement in Syria.
“Our stance is firm and we have to work according to UN resolution 2254, based on the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, ” Putin added.
He said that talks also tackled Sochi agreement about Idleb, stressing that combating terrorism is continuous.
President Putin reiterated that the presence of US troops in Syria is illegitimate.
