Polar low pressure starts to recede, temperatures still below average

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will remain from 2 to 5 degrees below average and showers are expected over different areas as the country is affected by a polar low pressure accompanied by a cold and wet air mass.

Meteorology Department expected in its Wednesday bulletin that the low pressure will gradually recede starting from the western areas while the weather will be cold at night.

The Department warned off the ice over the mountains and frost and fog in some inland areas.

The wind will be westerly to southwesterly with active gusts whose speed that reaches up to 75 km per hour while the sea waves will be medium to high in amplitude.

Tomorrow, the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general while temperatures will remain from 2 to 3 degrees below average.

Different amounts of rainfalls were registered in the provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: Hama 150 mm, Damascus and its countryside 38 mm, Daraa 27 mm, Quneitra 53 mm, Homs 65 mm, Tartous 58mm, Lattakia 17 mm, Idleb 30 mm, Aleppo 30 mm, Hasaka 27 mm and Raqqa 11 mm.

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 9-3, Daraa 9-4, Hama 10-4, Lattakia 14-10, Aleppo 7-2 and Deir Ezzor 10-5.
